PRJCT:10, an initiative by Momentum Triathlon Academy in collaboration with the Heart Foundation, supports young individuals aged 18-24 in achieving their athletic goals while promoting heart health awareness. Culminating in a 10km run at the Sydney Marathon Festival in September 2024, this program features seven athletes from various universities and workplaces, including Patrick, a vision impaired para-athlete. By keeping young people active at an age where dropout rates from sports are high, PRJCT:10 empowers them to stay engaged during winter months through comprehensive support including training plans, coaching, equipment, travel, and participation fees.

Additionally, the program educates participants on heart health and integrates heart rate training into their regimen all whilst fundraising for the Heart Foundation!

Support PRJCT:10

In collaboration with the Heart Foundation Australia, this project not only supports these athletes in their athletic pursuits but also raises vital awareness about heart health among younger Australians. As our seven dedicated athletes prepare for this challenge, we invite you to join us in making a difference. Help us raise funds for the Heart Foundation and support our mission to promote a healthier, more active future.

Education through PRJCT:10

Momentum Triathlon Academy athletes had the opportunity to participate in a session focused on heart health for young athletes. The event, held at St. Vincent’s Health Research Institute, featured Sports Cardiologist Prof. Andre La Gerche and his esteemed team.

The session began with a VO2 max test led by MTA athlete Skye, providing a practical demonstration of how exercise affects cardiovascular health. Prof. La Gerche and his team then shared valuable insights into the benefits of exercise for the heart, the significance of VO2 max, and the impact of training and racing on heart performance.

This collaboration is part of a broader initiative between Momentum Triathlon Academy and the Heart Foundation to promote active lifestyles and educate young athletes on heart health and performance.
